These categories are very creative, but I agree that unless you're a U2 fan it would be a lot more difficult to catch on. I suppose if you weren't then one could scan the posts and possibly make an inference.

Here are the categories in question (my guess as to the purpose / reference in parenthesis)

1) Gloria (religion, faith / Song title from October album)

2) Like a Song (music / song title from War album)

3) Political fanatics in the stew (politics, gov't / song lyric from "New York" off of the All That You Can't Leave Behind album)

4) Referee won't blow the whistle (sports / song lyric from "Staring at the Sun" off of the Pop album)

5) Stories for boys (movies, books / song title from Boy album)

6) Vorsprung durch technik (technology / song lyric from "Zooropa" off of the Zooropa album)

7) When I Look At the World (general? / song title from the All That You Can't Leave Behind album)

I guess on that system, you'd have to learn or communicate the categories clearly. Course, I'm not a lyrical music fan - more the soundtrack type - so I'd be lost. :P

Those are some creative categories, too...classifying the posts by the role of the writer (e.g., movie critic, techie, etc.). I had considered using "type of post" as my categories at one point (e.g., rants, journal, reviews, etc.).

One of my friends has categories that are all song titles or song quotes from U2 albums. I would have loved to copy them, especially since he hardly ever blogs. :)

Very nice idea. I just recently switched mine to a new system, taking a page out of Avalonstar's book. They also complimented my new name (ACrazyOne). This seems like a good system, but one I'd have to get used to seeing.

I posted your origninal message to the Dooyeweerdian email list (ThinkNet), and the response so far has been to encourage one UK scholar (Rudi Hayward) to start blogging, and others (Gideon Strauss) commending you on your creativity.

I look forward to seeing how this develops in post-by-post application.

Thanks, but I couldn't have done it without you! I've made some updates, so please let me know what you think. I also may or may not remove commenting from this page. I might instead write an entry on the main blog page that announces the updates.
