I participate in Self Portrait Sunday. It helps me get myself in front of the camera. And I have to ask, since you are a bit more advanced than me… what is the exif information and was there any postprocessing done in photoshop or picnik or something?
I used a Photoshop action called the Draganizer effect that simulates the style of Andrzej Dragan. It sounds like a click of a button (it’s actually several ), but there are multiple steps along the way in which you have to use your paint brush, adjust colors/contrast/etc. to your liking…depending on how “draganized” you want to make it. The photo above is less toward the extreme. Also, you don’t need the “action” (essentially like a “macro” recording if you’re familiar with those in other programs, such as Excel or Word), but it does speed things up a bit rather than having to create all the layers manually.
Super supergood.
Serious and grungy is perfect.
How did you photoshop it? I mean, it’s so excellently lit, and crisp.
I agree, well done.

@alli: I didn’t save this version with the EXIF data, but here are the basics…
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
Focal Length: 30mm (Sigma fixed focal lens)
Aperture: F/2
Exposure: 1/640
ISO: 100
@bobw: Yeah, it is a little distracting (unless I were like some famous athlete and this was an ad). It would be easy to clone stamp that out though.
I pulled the original and matched it with the finished product…
Before and After
you look like you like to wander in the woods, play chess in the park and that you’re recently out of rehab…
@stelmo: Me in a hoodie = Unabomber
I also like the Hugh Laurie photo filter you used.
I like the way you touched up the beard to make it look grey.
