Not only is Apple going to hate it (esp. since the platform is geared toward supporting 3rd party apps), but so will Microsoft (Windows Mobile) and most especially Palm–who is working on a mobile Linux platform but has failed miserably over the last several years at delivering a next generation operating system. If the G’OS beats Palm to market, then it might be the proverbial death nail in the coffin.
My other prediction is that once Google claims the mobile segment, they’ll create a desktop OS geared toward mobile companion devices (i.e., like the canceled Palm Foleo, the forthcoming Asus EeePC, etc.). At that point everyone better watch out!
They could have come up with a better name..
