Rosie: Road Collapse was No Accident

(PsuedoNews Wire) – Outspoken talk show host and conspiracy theorist, Rosie O’Donnell, issued a statement on Sunday claiming that the collapse of an interchange near the San Fransicso-Oakland Bay Bridge was no accident.

Authorities say that the damage was caused by a gasoline tanker that crashed and burst into flames. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” Officer Trent Cross of the California Highway Patrol said of the crumpled interchange. “I’m looking at this thinking, ‘Wow, no one died — that’s amazing. It’s just very fortunate.”

Ms. O’Donnell came forward with her theory soon after California Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued an emergency declaration Sunday afternoon to allow for repairs to happen sooner. O’Donnell implied that the entire event was orchestrated for political gain.

“I do believe that it’s only the second time in history that fire has ever melted steel,” O’Donnell confidently affirmed. “I do believe that it defies physics that a highway — this overpass, which collapsed on itself — it is impossible for a bridge to fall the way it fell without explosives being involved. The Bay Bridge got hit by a tanker truck, miraculously, the second time in history, steel was melted by fire. It is physically impossible.”

In March of this year O’Donnell drew heavy criticism from both the physics and engineering communities for saying that World Trade Center Tower Seven was destroyed by explosives instead of being weakened by debris that struck the building with volcanic force when the North Tower fell.

When asked about the lack of evidence to support her previous claims, Ms. O’Donnell sarcastically remarked, “Why don’t you ask Ah-nold or Bushie how that bridge collapsed, eh?”

Friday Vespers #31

Love is patient and kind:

  • Lord, please give all parties involved in this process of spiritual growth the patience and kindness necessary to bear with one another and to speak truth to one another and to hear truth from one another for the sake of mutual sanctification and edification.
  • Even when correction is given or received, Lord, please give us grace to always have kindness and the spiritual growth and edification of the other as our prime motive for our thoughts, words and actions.
  • Lord, please cause our means of interaction to always be characterized by the patience and kindness that was intended in 1st Corinthians.

One Square

Sheryl Crow thinks we can fight global warming by only using one square of toilet tissue per rest room visit (2-3 for those “pesky” occasions). I know whose hand I will not be shaking.

Thoughts on AI:S6

I have not said anything here yet about the sixth season of American Idol, nor will I again if Sanjaya Malakar is not voted off of the show tomorrow night. In fact, I just might not watch the show again. Ever. It will end soon anyway, because American Idol jumped the shark last season (even before Taylor Hicks won). The producers of the show would have been smart to implement a scoring system similar to Dancing with the Stars, in which the judges’ opinions actually count for something (i.e., a judge and voter blended average).

Of the remaining contestants, I think that Jordin Sparks has the best chance at actually making it in the music entertainment business. My votes tonight (the first time I have called this season) went to her and to Blake. If only there were an anti-vote for Sanjaya. I would redial that number for hours.

Unrestorable iPod

I was mistaken earlier when I blamed a FAT32 partition for slow iPod syncing.

corrupt iPod error message

As it turns out, my 20GB Special Edition U2 iPod (fourth generation w/ monochrome screen) has a failing hard drive. I have had it for about three two years since winning it in a 99X radio contest. No amount of resetting, restoring, or writing zeros has helped. Today I gave it one last try. R.I.P. my friend. If anyone has suggestions for a proper burial, please let me know.

What did we ever do without iPods? After lugging around a bunch of CD’s for the past week, I am ready to go back. I suppose I could burn some MP3′s to a CD-R or two until (1) I decide what player works best with Ubuntu and (2) where to get the funds. I just need to find that portable CD/MP3 player first.
