Super Bowl XLI and Other Ramblings
I am so glad that the Super Bowl is tomorrow. The last two weeks have been boring for this sports fan. I like college basketball, but honestly I like football so much that I usually do not follow hoops until mid-February rolls around. Once that is over all you have is NHL and NBA, both of which have excruciatingly long playoffs (baseball could not get here soon enough!).
The only recent point of interest I can think of is Serena winning the Australian Open. Federer was a given, so he does not count. Then there is Woods winning seven straight PGA events, but like Federer, he is in a league of his own. Golf is actually more interesting to me when Tiger does not play well.
Back to the Super Bowl . . . I would really like to see Peyton Manning and the Colts (interesting that I put it that way…as if it were a Hollywood playbill) beat the Bears. They say defense wins championships, but the flip side is that the offense can lose championships. In other words, the Bears have a great defense, but Rex Grossman running the Chicago offense is a wildcard.
Some of you may have noticed that I added a polling feature a while back. You can find the latest poll over on the sidebar. Sometimes I just do a poll for fun. Other times I have research in mind. Once in a while I might comment on a poll in a post (though I have yet to do so). Below is a working example of a poll.
It will be hard for Super Bowl XLI to top the AFC championship game between the Colts and the Patriots. Could that have been the real Super Bowl? If so, then my vote is on the commercials. At least the ads are always entertaining.
I’m also looking forward to the game tomorrow.
I posted my prediction of who will win… the Indianapolis Colts will beat the Chicago Bears by a score of 38 to 27.
I also voted on your pole
Thanks for the vote. My only hesitancy with predictions is that so many games this year have gone the opposite way from what was “supposed” to happen (at least in CFB). However, if the game is as high scoring as your prediction, then I would say that the Colts would be the likely candidate to come out on top!
We love your site. Keep blogging.
Here’s our Super Bowl prediction:
BEARS 28, Colts 17

Someone asked us if we were Colts fans and I said we are Peyton Manning fans, so by default we are Colts fans. I’m looking forward to the game and I’m looking forward to football being over for a while. We need to focus on college basketball so I am prepared when we go to the tournament in March.
