  1. I pretty much agree with all of your picks. I hope to see Notre Dame get severly beaten.

  2. There are a couple iffy ones, but I may have picked one or two based on who I wanted to win (e.g., Penn State). As for N.D., they say that you either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I prefer ambivalence, but confess there’s a li’l bit o’ love thrown their way based on the fact that they’re an independent. PSU didn’t join a football conference until ’90 after all.

  3. Scott, I am afraid I cannot be your friend anymore…

    Go Gators.

  4. Oh, you must think that I *want* OSU to win. As much of a Big 10 fan as I am, I’d like to see an upset (to help accelerate the demise of the BCS). But, I also want to win the office pool. :D

  5. I decided to not enter this year’s bowl picks because I am awful at it and my husband is so great at it. My football education has been pretty in depth, but the only thing I have really grasped is the following: pick Auburn to win, always pick the SEC over anything else.

Because everyone knows that the SEC is the toughest football conference, right? ;)

  7. Of course! We even break it down to where the western side of the conference is better than the eastern side, but that mainly holds up during basketball season. Unless it is Alabama. Never, ever vote for Alabama.

  8. That whole “always go with the SEC team” shouldn’t have applied to Kentucky…after all, it’s been 22 years since they won a bowl game. Ehem…pass the crow. I was flying along there at 75%, but after today I’ve hit a death spiral! Looks like I’m going to end up 1 for 5 on the day. :(

*EDIT* – Make that 2 for 5…thanks to Texas Tech’s HUGE comeback.

  9. Well…the math is in. I’m in second place so far in the office pool, but my bragging rights won’t go any farther. With five games left, I’m three points behind the first place person. We only have two of the five picks different. :( …but, I still got Penn State right (it helps to know that I live in an overwhelmingly pro UT Vols area)! :)

  10. [...] I would still like to see tOSU come back in the second half, after all I did pick them to win, but for all of the hype it looks like the BCS Championship game is following in the footsteps of its big brother. The Gators are up twenty points on the Buckeyes (34-14). So much for the B____ Championship Series (insert your own “B” word, such as: Blow-out, Big-money, Bull, Boring, etc.). [...]

  11. [...] it has been unnecessary. Below are my picks (predictions bolded; winners highlighted as we go). Last year I went 23 for [...]
