What’s most funny to me is that this post is getting huge amounts of traffic. Since last Friday, which was when I switched to a new stats tracker, it has received over 700 hits.

How do you “create” a link where once clicked will go straight to your personal elf? I’ve seen this as people’s websites and others’ who just used it as a direct link.

Amanda, I did not create the account on ElfYourself.com…Rob did that. However, the syntax appears to be the User ID followed by the date created (YYYYMMDD):

    http://www.elfyourself.com/?userid=b756d0ef8d2a0b451dd4fbf_20061205

I also just tried to access the site and got the following message:

Elfyourself.com is undergoing maintenance and will return shortly.

I’ve made more that week than ever before, a whopping $2.11 for the last seven days. Not even enough for a beer! :) Besides, Google doesn’t cut a check until you hit $100.00, so even at this rate it’ll be a while.

[...] Shortly after I was accepted into 9rules I decided to implement a new tracking system called Mint. Two days later I noticed a referrer from Ping Six. Linking to my comment, Tyme warned bloggers not to get caught up in statistics. Her point is well taken. A two sentence Aside about how Rob elfed me, posted the same day that Mint went live, is at the top of the charts with 1,375 hits! Putting it into perspective, the home page is second at 533 hits.
