[...] On Sunday a friend and fellow father mentioned that he knew I had been busy, because my beginning and end of week posts were running together. In other words, I am barely making my (self-imposed) bare minimum. The new baby is a month old now and life is starting to stabilize. However, sleep is still a scarce commodity and my late night blogging exploits are often foiled. [...]

[...] I almost feel bad posting this, because it seems that over the past few weeks the Monday and Friday posts are making up half the blog (or more). I remember a time when one dropped off before the other rolled around. Alas, this is what it means to have a newborn in your life. LORD, In the hurry of everyday life, and of service for men, We would snatch, again and again, A hundred times in a day, The brief and golden leisure To glance thus up to Thy face, To catch once more the sound of Thy voice, To feel anew the touch of thy hand, To know again that we live in Thee — Amen.
You wouldn't believe how many spam comments that I get on this blog. There was nothing for a long time, but as soon as my traffic count got up to a certain level and other blogs started linking here, the flood gates opened. I'm using a plugin to manage the spam. Since installing it several months ago it has stopped almost 3700 comments or trackbacks. Most of them are either porn, gambling or prescription drug related. Sometimes I don't even check the spam folder, because the content (all words and links...no images thank goodness) is so nasty.

Baus: Thanks! It's strange how his older brother was doing the same hand clasp in his official hospital portrait. Oh, and I'll check that movie out when I've had some more sleep. At a glance it looks interesting.

Rob: It's a good thing I occasionally check my comment spam filter...that first word of your post title happens to be on the blacklist! And yes, that topic has come up several times... :(

[...] After a late lunch Doug, Bobby and Laura headed back to Biloxi. Lois is staying for the week, so Pamela rested some while I ran a couple errands. While driving down Gunbarrel Road I realized that I should have stayed home. I am sure that the clerk at Wal-Mart thought I was on something, but it was just the sleep deprivation. And so here it is a little after 9:30 PM and I have decided to go to bed. Ethan and I were going to watch the World Series and post pictures to the web (he is laying on my lap), but I think I need to get some sleep while I can. The two other pictures I posted will have to do for one more night: a very soon after birth photo on my personal blog and a photoblog shot of Ethan resting in the hospital nursery a short time later. « Announcing Ethan Philip Kennedy [...]
