Rugged Mobility

It is strange how car fevers come and go. I am primarily a fan of sedans and sports cars. However, after seeing one of these recently — and actually driving an older one of these — all I can think about is how cool it would be to have one. Both also go against my “buy used” sensibilities. Wranglers can be had pre-owned, but the 2007 model has some worthy improvements. The FJ Cruiser is a completely brand new model (with styling echoes of the old Land Cruiser).

Alas, our family needs a minivan first. If anyone wants to trade a used Jeep for a beat up Altima …

  1. That Toyota is a sweet ride! I have to admit that I am not a big off road kind of guy but I am a fan of both of these vehicles! I think I could dig driving around in a jacked up wrangler with no roof or doors!

  2. I agree … that would be my kind of convertable! They also both exude masculinity in an ageless kind of way. You wouldn’t look stupid driving a jeep whether you’re 18 or 55, but stick someone old in a Scion and watch out.

  3. The Toy, is cool because they took what was cool with the element, suicide doors, rubber/rugged interior, and gave it an exterior that looks outdoorsy…
