Uranium-235

Posted: 04.11.2006 in Uncategorized

The big news of the day is that Iran has gained entrance into the nuclear club by successfully enriching uranium to a fuel grade level. The Iranians say that the efforts are just for nuclear power plants, but I do not think anyone really believes those claims to be genuine. I think we would be naive to think that the next step is not production of weapons grade uranium. The question, however, is what are we going to do about it? Do you favor a preemptive or reactionary course of action?

  2. Hehehe, it was nice knowing you, too. If only we gave voting rights to illegal immigrants then perhaps the U.S. could have had the right leaders in place to prevent us from pissing off the Middle East. We are surely doomed know.

More seriously…aside from radicals possessing the ability to blow things up in a big way…is anyone concerned about how countries like Iran are going to dispose of all this radioactive waste?

  4. The latest on Israel from the Iranian president…

“The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm.”

Hmm…I wonder what he means by one storm? Kind of reminds me of this Onion article, only serious.

  5. [...] Iran has successfully enriched uranium to fuel grade, plans to build thousands of centrifuges and now has a delivery system. However, we should believe Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad–the same guy who in recent months has called for wiping Israel off the map–that these developments are not related. Iran’s nuclear ambitions are for peaceful purposes we are told. Bring back the Cold War. At least the Communists were not fighting a centuries old religious feud. [...]
